Technology roles only

We recruit leaders, engineers, data and AI specialists, infrastructure and security professionals, product people, designers, researchers and quality engineers. Each has its own page that explains the hiring challenge.

We do not recruit outside technology, and we do not supply contract or offshore engineers.

Where they work

The industries we know best are listed on the industries page. They range from software as a service and fintech to robotics and enterprise IT. We also work with companies that are not technology businesses at all but need a strong engineering team.

If your role is unusual

Many real roles do not match a title. If yours is one of them, describe the work on the do not see your role page. We will tell you quickly whether we can help.

The cost of waiting

How long did your last search take? How much did the empty seat cost while you waited?

Every week a technology seat stays open, the work it was meant to cover lands on someone else or does not happen. We do not put a number on that for you, because only you know it. We shorten the wait by going straight to employed people who already do the work.

How a search runs

The Six-Step Search

  1. 1Search Calibration

A call about the work. You get a written search profile.

  2. 2Market Mapping

We identify the employer backgrounds that fit. You see where we will look.

  3. 3Professional Contact Intelligence

We identify individual people, not job board applicants.

  4. 4Persistent Personalized Outreach

Personal outreach and direct follow-through. You get search updates.

  5. 5Live Candidate Qualification

A recruiter checks stack, scope and motivation in conversation.

  6. 6Candidate Intelligence and Process Support

You receive a written brief on every person you meet.

Using this page for the next decision

Technology Headhunters recruits technology and IT professionals for employers who need a working person, not another pile of resumes. Our positions index is organized around the work. It includes software delivery, company IT, technical support and technology leadership. Choosing a familiar title is a starting point. The responsibilities determine which people we approach.

If the vacancy is in engineering, tell us what the person will ship and what they will inherit. Maintaining an established application is different from owning a new product. Moving a service into production is different from managing the team that keeps it running. The language or cloud platform helps define the search, but it does not replace a conversation about scope.

For support and operations openings, start with the users and the failure the hire must resolve. A help desk analyst handles a different queue from an application support engineer. An onsite technician has different access and travel requirements from a remote service desk worker. We ask who owns an escalation, what documentation exists and which parts of the job cannot be done from home.

Business application hiring depends on the system and the change ahead. An administrator keeping an existing instance healthy is not necessarily the person to lead a migration. A certified analyst may know a module but not your workflow. We separate configuration work from integration work and ask how the person has dealt with a bad change in a live environment.

Leadership searches start with decision rights. Who owns hiring, the budget and the technical direction? What needs to improve without interrupting the business? A title alone cannot answer those questions. Use a family index to see the positions we cover, or send an unfamiliar title with a description of the work. We will identify the closest search rather than force your opening into the wrong category.

Questions about What We Recruit: Technology Roles

Can we send an opening that is not listed in the positions grid?

Yes. Describe the responsibilities and the location. We will identify the relevant family and tell you if the search is outside our technology and IT scope.

Working with Technology Headhunters

When is the recruiting fee due?

There is no upfront fee for our contingency search. You pay only if you hire someone we present, under the terms of the signed agreement.

How long does it take to see a short list?

We first need to agree the opening and qualify people against it. Availability and the interview requirements affect the search; we do not promise a fixed deadline before reviewing the work.

What happens if a candidate receives a counteroffer?

We discuss the reason for considering a move before you invest in interviews. A counteroffer can change the decision, so we revisit that reason rather than assume more pay will settle it.

What are the replacement terms?

We offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements. The applicable period and exact terms are set out in the signed client recruiting agreement.

What don't you do in a permanent search?

We do not bill by the hour for permanent search or charge a retainer unless one is agreed. We do not treat reposting your job advertisement as headhunting.
