Why industry matters
Industry knowledge changes who we call and what we ask. A payments engineer and a robotics engineer may share a title and share almost nothing else. Each industry page lists the constraints that define the work, so you can see whether we understand your side of the problem.
We also work with companies outside the technology industry that need a strong engineering team, such as operating businesses, distributors and service firms. If yours is one of them, start a search and describe what the team has to build.
Tell us what the team needs.
No upfront fee. You pay only if you hire. We offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements. The applicable period and exact terms are set out in the signed client recruiting agreement.
The cost of waiting
How long did your last search take? How much did the empty seat cost while you waited?
Every week a technology seat stays open, the work it was meant to cover lands on someone else or does not happen. We do not put a number on that for you, because only you know it. We shorten the wait by going straight to employed people who already do the work.

Using this page for the next decision
Technology Headhunters recruits for the environment your next hire will work in, not just the title on the opening. An engineer building a regulated payment service faces different decisions from an engineer shipping a consumer application. Start with the industry that best describes the work. Tell us about the constraints that would make an otherwise capable person struggle in your company.
For financial technology, the important conversation is about money movement, account controls and the records a system must keep. Trading technology adds execution behavior and performance under load. A person who has worked near these systems is not automatically someone who owned them. We ask what they changed, which risks they were responsible for and how their work was reviewed.
Healthcare hiring needs another set of questions. A software team working with patient information does not need the same background as a hospital hiring an application analyst. Integration experience, clinical workflow knowledge and the relevant platform certification are separate checks. We agree which of those the opening actually needs before deciding where to look.
A construction software business needs people who can follow a field workflow without assuming every user sits at a desk. A manufacturer may need someone who understands plant systems as well as business applications. Managed service providers need technicians who can change context between customers and leave useful notes. These differences affect the source pool and the interview, even when the title stays the same.
Company stage matters alongside industry. A first technical hire may need to work without an established team. A leader joining an acquired business may inherit systems that cannot be replaced at once. A large enterprise may require someone who can make a change through formal approvals. Use the sector pages to describe that setting, then send the role and the problem you need the hire to solve.
Questions about Technology Recruiting by Industry
Does an industry filter replace the technical screening?
No. The sector defines the environment; the role defines the work. We use both when we decide which backgrounds to approach.
Working with Technology Headhunters
When is the recruiting fee due?
There is no upfront fee for our contingency search. You pay only if you hire someone we present, under the terms of the signed agreement.
How long does it take to see a short list?
We first need to agree the opening and qualify people against it. Availability and the interview requirements affect the search; we do not promise a fixed deadline before reviewing the work.
What happens if a candidate receives a counteroffer?
We discuss the reason for considering a move before you invest in interviews. A counteroffer can change the decision, so we revisit that reason rather than assume more pay will settle it.
What are the replacement terms?
We offer a candidate replacement guarantee on standard search agreements. The applicable period and exact terms are set out in the signed client recruiting agreement.
What don't you do in a permanent search?
We do not bill by the hour for permanent search or charge a retainer unless one is agreed. We do not treat reposting your job advertisement as headhunting.
